    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the intention of the Board of County Commissioners of Escambia County, Florida at a public hearing to be held on September 7, 2023, at 5:33 p.m. in the BCC Meeting Room, Ernie Lee Magaha Government Building, 221 Palafox Place, First Floor, to consider the adoption of the following ordinance:

of the intention of the Board of County Commissioners of Escambia County, Florida to hold the second of two public hearings required by Section 163.3225, Florida Statutes, on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 9:19 a.m. or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Ernie Lee Magaha Government Building, Board of County Commissioners Meeting Room, First Floor, 221 Palafox Place, Pensacola, Florida.

 

The subject of each hearing is:

 

THE 2023 CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE UNIVERSITY OF WEST FLORIDA BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FLORIDA. THE PROPOSED CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT IS INTENDED TO ADDRESS CONCURRENCY IMPLEMENTATION AND THE MITIGATION OF IMPACTS REASONABLY EXPECTED ON PUBLIC FACILITIES AND SERVICES, INCLUDING ROADS, SANITARY SEWER, SOLID WASTE, DRAINAGE/STORMWATER MANAGEMENT, POTABLE WATER, PARKS AND RECREATION, AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. THE SUBJECT PROPERTY INCLUDES APPROXIMATELY 1,746 ACRES CONSISTING OF THE EXISTING CAMPUS AND THE IMMEDIATELY SURROUNDING UNDEVELOPED AREA, GENERALLY NORTH OF NINE MILE ROAD AND EAST OF CHEMSTRAND ROAD.

 

The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comments regarding the proposed Campus Development Agreement.

 

All interested parties may appear at the public hearing and be heard regarding the proposed Campus Development Agreement. A draft of the proposed Campus Development Agreement is available for review at the Ernie Lee Magaha Government Building, Deputy Clerk’s Office, 221 Palafox Place, Suite 130, Pensacola, Florida, 32502, and at the Escambia County Development Services Department, 3363 West Park Place, Pensacola, Florida 32505.

 

The Board of County Commissioners do not make verbatim transcripts of their meetings; any person who wishes to appeal (to Circuit Court) any matter considered at such meetings or hearing will need to independently ensure preparation of a verbatim transcript of the proceeding that includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal will be based.
